Amazon has a global presence. Travel will be necessary but shouldn’t be more than 25%. International support will be part of the job, and some international travel may be necessary. Support could consist of leading international projects and could require developing engineering packages. An understanding of international electrical design requirements is helpful but not necessary.Key job responsibilities
Key job responsibilities
• Lead and manage the product design engineering team in developing and designing new electrical infrastructure equipment.
• Work with partner teams to understand opportunities for design improvement and manage mechanisms that align iterative design decisions.
• Collaborate with other disciplines such as Data Center engineering, reliability, QA/QC and compliance teams to create well thought out products.
• Lead creation of designs which meet or exceed our quality requirements while delivering a return on investment and ensure compliance with federal, state and municipal requirements and building codes across different countries.
• Lead a team working on concurrent projects in multiple geographical regions.
• Demonstrate strong vocal leadership within the Electrical Solutions team as well as with internal and external teams that support the data center.Diverse Experiences

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering
• 5+ years experience leading engineering teams developing product design and certification of power distribution equipment.
• Knowledge of typical data center designs/architectures, and be following industry design trends.
• Knowledge of function and deployment of electrical infrastructure products in data center environment.

• Demonstrated leadership skills managing teams.
• Demonstrated ability to work cross functionally to improve products and/or processes.
• Experience with protection and control schematics and manufacturing wiring drawings.
• Experience in engineering Design for manufacturability, safety, quality and supply chain simplification.
• Demonstrated ability to perform complex business case analysis to justify technical decisions and present the justification to management in a high-level review.
