Senior Director, Regulatory Advisory & Advocacy


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of a strategy for prudential regulatory agency engagement that amplifies and enhances Capital One’s leadership as a tech-forward, financial institution

  • Lead, on behalf of Regulatory Affairs, the development and implementation of enterprise-wide policy advocacy efforts, in partnership with subject matter experts

  • Oversee regulatory and supervisory relations and interactions between Capital One’s leaders and the Federal Regulatory supervisory staff and key principals across the agencies

  • Advise functional partners on current and emerging risks, opportunities and challenges that the company faces in the supervisory and regulatory environment, as well as the controls the Management team has established to manage these risks

  • Develop the technical competencies and analytical mindset of Capital One Associates who perform regulatory affairs and external affairs work to ensure awareness of emerging risks and a comprehensive risk program

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 7 years of experience in banking or financial services, operational or enterprise risk management, audit, consulting, regulatory agencies, or a combination

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in banking or financial services, operational or enterprise risk management, audit, consulting, regulatory agencies, or a combination

  • 10+ years of experience supporting integrated projects or programs where senior leaders and external stakeholders are your customers

  • 8+ years of experience working with banking regulators and regulatory policy

McLean, VA: $264,300 - $301,700 for Sr. Director, Govt Relations New York, NY: $288,400 - $329,100 for Sr. Director, Govt Relations Richmond, VA: $240,300 - $274,300 for Sr. Director, Govt RelationsThis role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
