Citi Group Operations Analyst - Foreign Exchange Entry Level

The role entails ensuring that all trades for Foreign Exchange product are settled in a timely manner and the resolution of queries covering all areas of pre-settlement matching, settlement processing and post-settlement investigations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for processing of large volumes of high value transactions
  • Ensuring established controls and procedures are adhered to.
  • Capable of making appropriate decisions in line with critical deadlines, high value of trades and sensitive clients.
  • Manage all exceptions to KRI’s
  • Ensuring that all deadlines are met, all unmatched and failed trades are investigated and satisfactorily resolved
  • Continuous liaison with Internal and External clients and counterparties, including escalation, resolution and appropriate follow up.
  • Maintain a high level of client service and support, to external clients/counterparties, other market participants and key Citi staff.
  • Build strong relationships with other areas, including regular communication with the front office/trading floor.
  • Ensures the quality and service of own work
  • Applies working knowledge of technical and professional principles and concepts and in-depth knowledge of team objectives.
  • Applies knowledge to provide value-added perspectives or advice. Interprets data and contributes to recommendations for process improvement.
  • Ensuring personal compliance while applying critical thinking to all controls and procedures in place in the department, looking to not only follow them but improve them where possible.

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Work experience in the Financial Services Industry is a benefit, but not a necessity.
  • Customer/Client service experience.
  • Well-developed ability in managing competing priorities, working to deadlines and delivering results.
  • Building positive working relationships
  • Identifying issues and developing corrective actions.

Skills:

  • Computer literate with an ability to grasp several in house systems quickly and use Microsoft office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Communication Skills - Ability to detail issues, in writing, in a clear, accurate and concise manner.
  • Resilience and adaptability – managing multiple competing demands
  • Demonstrates sound judgement and professionalism in decision making/problem solving, understanding importance of escalation
  • Fluency in a second language may be an advantage

Qualifications:

Mandatory

  • GCSE “A” Level standard or equivalent
  • Numerical skills

Desirable

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Industry exams e.g. FSA module exams or a full affiliate status
