Job Description:In this position as a Senior Technical Writer, you will be responsible for defining and implementing product documentation strategy for Intel client customers, enabling products. You will develop documentation External Design Specifications (EDS), User Guides, Technical Reference Manuals, Getting Started Guides, Platform Design Guides (PDG), etc. This will include the conversion of content from different formats to support a more dynamic experience for customers to consume content, and help clients enable their custom designs quickly using Intel products. You will be an integral part of a client product development and release team, and will work closely with Subject Matter Experts (SME) engineers and other project stakeholders to develop customer-enabling content for both offline and online web use. You will work with SMEs to define gaps in existing content and develop and implement a plan to execute. You will attend planning and/or coordination meetings to assess customer requirements and define appropriate content solutions.
Qualifications:Roles and Responsibilities:
- To generate product documentation from scratch and produce high-quality, standards-compliant end-user documentation according to priority and deadline
- Analyze and understand the product workflows.
- To provide helpful peer review edits to improve overall quality and learn about the technical aspects of Intel's products
- To interface with the SMEs, or from engineering specifications
- To determine the appropriate format, structure, syntax, and style, as well as adhere to legal guidelines.
- Expected to utilize the latest authoring tools and technologies, such as SDL Dita publishing tools, Adobe FrameMaker, Snagit, Word, and other various formats and Content management systems to create, manage, and publish your content.
- To possess excellent planning, coordination, and communication skills.
- To work with not only local teams but also remote teams in different time zones. For example, Pacific, Central, Eastern Time in the United States, and SMEs and peers who speak English as their first language, and Asia, where the primary language is not English but communication is in English.
- To master Intel writing tools and processes, and seek methods to improve relevant processes.
Minimum Requirements:
- You must possess a Bachelor's degree or higher in English, Technical Writing, Technical Communications, or a related field, OR an engineering degree with excellent English skills.
- 5+ years of experience designing, writing, and publishing technical documentation, with a minimum of 1 year of technical documentation in thehardware/semiconductorfield.
- 4+ years of demonstrable experience on Windows* and one of the other operating systems, like Linux* or Unix OS.
- 4+ years of experience using standard authoring tools and/or technologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with two years of technical writing experience.
- Well-versed in DITA authoring.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to research technical topics and manage your own projects successfully.
- Understanding of structured authoring and minimalism practices.
- Experience with professional authoring tools, such as Author, Illustrator, and Acrobat.
- Experience with FPGA technology is a plus
