What the Candidate Will Do:

1. Share ownership of our CMS platform, UI libraries, and the operational health and performance of Uber.com.
2. Build foundational Growth infrastructure for running experiments, tracking user behavior and engaging users.
3. Mentor engineers provide thoughtful feedback.
4. Help interview and recruit more hard working engineers to Uber.

Basic Qualifications:

1. BS or MS degree in computer science, similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience.
2. 4+ years of professional experience as a Software Engineer focused on Web.
3. Excellent problem solving, architecture, and algorithm skills.
4. Experience building complex large scale web applications with Node, Typescript, HTML, and CSS.
5. Experience building data-driven features by analyzing user behavior and conducting experiments.
6. Care deeply about the quality of the software and systems you build.
7. Technical communication and collaboration skills, capable of achieving successful outcomes with colleagues at all levels, from junior engineers to senior executives.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Robust understanding of web server and client performance optimizations.
2. Demonstrated fluency with one or more general purpose programming languages, including: C++, Python, Java, Go, or Rust
3. Experience and interest in full-stack development (Backend or Data).

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$167,000 per year - USD$185,500 per year.

For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$167,000 per year - USD$185,500 per year.
