Job Summary:
Senior Architect to develop and drive strategy and architecture for Database technologies for the enterprise. Architect will be responsible for database services strategy and architecture for internal and external cloud. These database services are used by all CIO applications to deploy secure, resilient, scalable globally distributed databases that are fit for purpose for modern microservice applications.
Responsibilities:
- Partner across the CIO teams to understand needs and socialize Database technologies strategy
- Provide roadmap updates, successes and opportunities to stakeholders, and senior leadership
- Architect and design database patterns that can meet the resiliency and scalability needs of the bank’s most critical applications
- Work closely with Product vendors to inform and align with their roadmap with the goal of meeting the business, functional and performance needs of the CIO applications
- Proactively focus risk management including Privileged Access, IT asset management and Data Privacy controls
- This person will be responsible for Strategy and Architecture of products such as MongoDB, Redis, SingleStore, Cassandra, AWS RDS PostgreSQL, and Aurora PostgreSQL, DynamoDB and ElastiCache
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience with the one or more of the above-mentioned technologies
- Experience with multi-tenant and multi region architectures, Distributed databases, and CAP theorem tradeoffs
- Ability to design for Horizontal and vertical scaling, Sharding and replication strategies, Multi AZ and multi region failover
- Expert level knowledge of Database Security and compliance - data at rest, data in transit, IAM policies
- Experience with Ansible & Terraform
- Experience developing Enterprise Blueprint documents
- Experience developing data models and data flow diagrams
