JPMorgan Corporate Controllers – Financial Controller Vice President

As a Vice President Financial Controller within Corporate Controllers, you will oversee financial management for key corporate functions such as Corporate Responsibility, Morgan Health, and the JPMorgan Chase Foundation.

Job responsibilities:

  • Ensure the accuracy and validity of ledger accounts, including adherence to the firmwide General Ledger Attestation standard governing reconciliation and substantiation
  • Ensure adherence to P&L and Balance Sheet controls owned by Financial Controllers, including identifying and implementing opportunities for efficiency
  • Analyze, communicate, and resolve material variances between the general ledger and upstream systems, as defined by line of business
  • Manage data requests into and out of the Financial Reporting group, serving as liaison between data suppliers and data users, including line-of-business and legal entity controllers
  • Enhance the overall control environment around the financial reporting function
  • Mobilize change wherever possible in order to simplify processes and enhance controls
  • Produce monthly controller’s financial review materials and presentation to senior management review
  • Manage the production of the JPMC Foundation’s annual financial statements and coordinate with external auditor


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • 5 years in accounting with experience in month-end close and compiling stand-alone financial statements
  • Strong control mindset (standard operating procedures, analytical review, secondary review, automated solution management, etc.) required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (with strong accounting experience)
  • Experience with a financial consolidation and reporting system (i.e. SAP interface)
  • Experience managing a staff of skilled professionals
  • Experience in managing process and workflow enhancement
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and execute in a constantly changing environment
  • Ability to partner across all levels of the organization and influence decisions and priorities outside of one’s direct span of control

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Experience preparing executive summary reporting and partnership amongst multiple stake-holders is beneficial
  • CPA license beneficial but not required
  • Knowledge of other financial reporting systems beneficial
