What you’ll be doing:
Lead Photonics assembly tool & process development for NVIDIA’s next generation Silicon Photonics products and platforms.
Responsible for building & deploying high volume fiber assembly tool and qualifying photonics assembly pilot line for scale up of NVIDIA's silicon photonics products and platforms.
Responsible for defining tool architecture, tool features and functions, develop scalable processes for fiber alignment on large package body platforms, define assembly flow and own assembly quality and reliability.
Partner with assembly tool vendors to build, install, deploy and qualify Photonics Assembly equipment across high volume manufacturing sites.
Work closely with internal design, fabrication and packaging cross-functional teams to develop new assembly requirements, assembly flows, help with design of different test structures, share data, and lead new assembly processes.
Collaborate closely with Photonics assembly partners to build assembly pilot line and train partner engineers and technicians on assembly tools and processes.
Drive continuous improvement in assembly cycle time and assembly quality/reliability.
What we need to see:
Degree in Optics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics or related fields with equivalent experience.
7+ years optical assembly, test or packaging experience.
Strong background & experience in Silicon Photonics design, fabrication, test, CoWoS and assembly.
Hands-on experience in Photonics assembly development, especially optical fiber alignment at chip or package-scale, building and qualifying Photonics assembly equipment and analyzing assembly data
Strong statistical analysis skills – ability to use data visualization techniques to deliver assembly data analysis and optimizing manufacturing techniques
Understanding of quality control, statistical process control and DOE techniques
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
Experience in Silicon Photonics device design or fabrication, including familiarity with photonics test structure design
Solid understanding of AutoCad, Zemax or other opto-mechanical software tools
Mechanical simulation software like Ansys mechanical.
